Hello My Guys!!
New Week New Style Post! Yes, I know I promised to switch up my posts, taking product shoots is long and and stressful process. You have to consider a lot of factors; lighting, angles, positioning I legit bought an artificial plant last week (look out for it). On Saturday night I attended the Women for Africa Awards at Kensington Hall. I’m always looking for an excuse to dress up and slay! Before I carry on I have to say I have a newfound respect for hairstylist/hairdressers, y’all jobs are not easy! I think I watched a dozen YouTube tutorials on how to do this simply braid up do. After watching these videos, I felt like superwoman, like I could conquer anything that life throws me. I parted my hair into three sections. – Wait let me save this story for my wash and go post let’s go back to the awards and my ootn!!
So I had been aware about the awards for about 2/3weeks so I had plenty of time to get my outfit sorted, but no I left everything to the last minute. My had initially planned to wear a black one shoulder dress from Rare London. I put my dress in my basket and got distracted by REIGN (Catherine de’ Medici is goals- don’t ask me why just watch Reign init). Went to the Rare London to finalize my purchase only to find out my dress had sold out!!! I went into panic mode, (all my alternative dresses my size wasn’t in stock, small girl problems!) I literally felt like setting fire to the rain. Bear in mind this is like Wednesday night, I had already missed the Thursday next day delivery, so anything I order had to be delivered on Friday or Early Saturday Morning (sob).
Just as I was about to give up my hunt, I stumbled on this cute jumpsuit and my size was in stock (yay). Being a giant can be stressful at times, if I lived in Nigeria I would have pop round to my tailor and got the jumpsuit altered to suit my giant-self. LOL. I usually shy away from accessorise, however I went all out on Saturday and had fun, gold goes everything and just like that I was ready for a night of fun.
I arrived late at the awards, therefore I missed out on the first set of awards that had been presented. The highlight of my night is when the award for Outstanding Mother of the year, 7 ladies were up for the award and and each these women won this award. I feel like the needs to be more awards like this where everyone wins an award and get appreciated. Why compete when we can all win together. Overall I thought it was a well-planned out event and the DJ was on point. Can’t wait till next year!!
